We had a tremendous time in Lapaterique. Sunday we had church then went to a field up in the mountains where all of the villages had gathered. About 350 children were present. It was almost overwelming. What a blessing to us. We did games, crafts, the puppet show, and handed out hygene kits. We also helped feed the kids what is probably the best meal they have had for monthe. Rice, Chicken, Tortilla and a drink.
Monday we had a work day and did home visits to sponsored children. Seeing how some of the live was overwelming.
Tues we did the crafts etc with the kids of Lapaterique then had a bonfire in the evening. The people here show so much love for us.
Wed we had a meeting with the village pastors then traveled to the city.
Sorry this is short and has spelling probems but it is time to go.

ReplyDeleteI can't see Astrid lives too far away. I fix a package for her and will have it taken to her next time they go to her project. I need her number for them to get it to her. If you can get it on the blog to me or to papa so he can email to Marva for me that would be great.
I miss all of my family. I am having a wonderful experience. I have gotten to love on many children.
Today we went to 2 more projects and did VBS we had alot of kids to do crafts, games & the puppet show with. They were split into 3 groups and rotated to the three areas. We also split into 3 groups and did 2 home visits times today. Little Bear I told David about you and shared one of your Faith in God's Healing Touch bracelets. He was very touched by me sharing the love I have for you and how special you are to me.

He Greg and Beth, Thanks for the well wishes. We went to Lapaterique and saw about 450 children in five days. I got to see my old sponsee. She came and surprised me. I met her brother and saw her mother again. It was great to see our friends and make new friends. We are now in the city and went to two projects today. We shared our VBS program- crafts, puppet show, games, and passed out hygiene kits (in Lapaterique) I was able to meet my new sponsor child today. She's really sweet. She's 10 next week. We actually got to spend quite a chunk of time together but didn't get to go to her house. Thanks for your prayers. Love, Vicky
